Once you have set-up your Sources, Metrics and Boards in Droyd, you want to send this data and schedule it.

The easiest way to use your data is to rely on Zapier webhook feature, which allows you to receive the reporting you created in Droyd.

This guide will walk you through the steps in Zapier, showcasing the example of a recurring presentation you want to feed with fresh and aggregated data pulled from a CRM (Salesforce in this situation)

1. Set-up the webhook in Zapier

As a trigger, you want to select “Webhooks by Zapier”, the event should be “Catch Hook”.

2. Send your report from Droyd.io

Once your metrics are added to the report, save it, and then click on the “Send report” button at the very bottom, this will manually send the data to Zapier, and let your zap know what data it should expect as an input.

3. Test your data in Zapier

Go to “Find data” in your Zapier trigger and navigate through the requests to select the most recent one.

Once you’re happy with the data in the trigger, click continue and we will set-up the action(s)

4. Set-up Google Slide and find your template

Choose the action “Create Presentation From Template”, this will let you choose any deck from your drive and use as a template for further automations.

Choose a title for your presentation, here mine is “Weekly Sales Meeting — {{today’s date}}”

If you want to add today’s date and format it on the go you can use this feature combined with the Zapier built-in date formatter .

5. Map your metrics from Droyd with merge fields for Google Slide

Zapier will automatically find all the merge fields you’ve created in your template, and let you choose which metric to map with each fields

Once you’re ready, it’s time to test your zap in real conditions and send the data to Google Slide.

6. Send your data and enjoy

Click on Test & Review at the bottom left, this will send the data to google slide and generate a new presentation for you, with all the merge fields completed with your dynamic data.

Once your report is scheduled, let’s say every week on Monday, it will trigger the zap each time and create a new deck.

Bonus ideas for a rock-solid reporting cadence :

a/ Save all your metrics in a spreadsheet

1. Prepare a Google Sheet with the same column names as your data from Droyd

Go back to your Slack workspace, you should have received an alert in your slackbot with the link the newly created presentation.

c/ Send the deck to your team before the meeting

It’s always a good idea to send your slides before the meeting, so you can focus on the actual figures and not just keep your team up to date.

1. Add a new Gmail step in your Zap

You don’t want to spam your entire company with this kind emails, but it’s also great for your CEO and Sales Director to receive this reporting as a newsletter.
